The 6 Parts of a Business Letter

A business letter is a formal written communication between two parties. It is typically used to conduct business, make requests, or provide information. Business letters should be clear, concise, and professional.

The 6 parts of a business letter are:

  1. Return Address

The return address is your address,  peerclick , company name, street address, city, state, and zip code. It should be placed in the upper left corner of the page. 2. Date

The date should be placed below the return address. It should be written in the format “Month, Day, Year” (e.g., “August 29, 2023”). 3. Recipient’s Address

The recipient’s address should be placed in the upper right corner of the page. It should include the recipient’s name, company name, street address, city, state, and zip code. 4. Salutation

The salutation is a greeting to the recipient. It should be followed by a colon (:). The most common salutations are “Dear Mr./Ms. Last Name” and “To Whom It May Concern.” 5. Body

The body of the letter is where you will state your purpose for writing. It should be clear, concise, and easy to read. Use paragraphs to separate your thoughts. 6. Complimentary Close

The complimentary close is a farewell to the recipient. It should be followed by a comma (,). The most common complimentary closes are “Sincerely,” “Respectfully,” and “Yours truly.” 7. Signature

Your signature should be placed below the  complimentary close  You can also include your title below your signature.
